BUILDING MAINTENANCE CUSTODIAL SERVICES
The Building Maintenance Custodial Services course introduces students to cleaning and maintaining school sites. This course focuses on basic custodial skills such as classroom and restroom cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting, floor machine training, Cal/OSHA regulations and safety, emergency preparedness, and LBUSD policies and procedures. Students will learn leadership, employment, and interview skills training provide by district leaders. The 60 hour course consists of classroom lectures, group activities, practical hands-on training and demonstrations. $200
ANIMAL CARE AND VETERINARY SERVICES
This one-year course provides students with classroom instruction and internship training for entry level skills in the animal care field. The course includes: opportunities in the animal care field, animal restraint, first aid, terminology, sanitation, nutrition, domestic breeds and general care. Our internship training facilities include Long Beach Animal Care Services, pet shops, veterinary hospitals, kennels, and grooming shops. $1,600
INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - SPED
This 30 hour course prepares adults for entry-level employment as Instructional Aides (IAs) in K–12 public school settings. Participants will learn how to support certificated staff in instructional delivery, student behavior management, personal care, and classroom operations. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration, equity, student safety, and inclusive practices. $50
CAMPUS STAFF ASSISTANT
The 24 hour course satisfies SB 1626 which requires security guards in K-12 and Community College districts to complete a course of training developed by BSIS. This course meets the Business and Professional Code 7583.45 and CA Ed Code 38001.5 and 72330.5. Students must attend all course hours and pass a final assessment to earn the certificate. $100
CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT
The Nurse Assistant Training/CNA program includes 60 hours of classroom/online theory lecture and 100 hours of supervised hands-on clinical experience at a local Skilled Nursing Facility. This is a fast paced and focused program. Students are trained to provide compassionate care for people within the healthcare system. Through lecture, video, role-playing, hands-on skill demonstration, and clinical practice students learn procedural skills such as bathing, dressing, positioning, and vital sings. Upon graduation from the NAT program, students are eligible to test for the CNA State Exam to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. $2,300
