Custodial Services

Interested students come to the main office to register. The course cost is $200: cash or credit/debit card. (There is a 3% fee to use your card).

Students are to attend all dates listed for the session.

Class meets Tuesday and Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m.

Our course partners with the Equity, Leadership and Talent Development Office in LBUSD (ELTD). This team infuses leadership skills in workshops during class to help students be successful as a custodian in LBUSD.
Our course partners with LBUSD Personnel Commission. Staff guide students through the application process for LBUSD and help with interview skills and test taking tips.
Proof of enrollment in or successful completion of the Building Maintenance/Custodial Services class offered by the Long Beach School for Adults shall substitute for the required education, training, and experience.
All applicants who successfully complete the on boarding process are provided the opportunity to work as a substitute (should the applicant wish) and they are placed on the hiring eligibility list to be considered for permanent employment with LBUSD.

Per Long Beach Unified School District's Job Description for a Custodian, in part: Employees must have "knowledge of modern cleaning methods" "understand and follow oral and written directions" applicants must also have completed eighth grade. At Long Beach School for Adults our class is taught in English and LBUSD employment tests are also in English.
