What Makes LBSA Unique

Long Beach School for Adults runs over 1200 students through its programs each year.  Our main office is open and accessible morning, afternoon, and evening hours.  We are a small campus that is warm and inviting with staff that are deeply invested in the success of our students.

We offer both HiSET and HSD Independent Learning Labs with credentialed teachers through a structured yet flexible program.

We have a state certified HiSET Testing Center.  Anyone can register to take the test on site without enrollment into LBSA.

We have a robust ESL program with level classes and elective offerings in conversation and citizenship.

Our ABE program cycles every 40 hours (the minimum state standard) whereas many programs require well more than 40 hours to retake the reading assessment for matriculation into HSD or HiSET.

We have unique CTE courses: Animal Care, Custodial, Campus Security Assistant, and Instructional Assistant.  We partner with two outside agencies for a CDL and CNA course.
